HONEY GLAZE FOR BAKED HAM

Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Yields: 1 (10-pound) Ham

Comment:
Christmas hams are found on Christmas Eve and Christmas day in many cultures across the world. There are many variations, but one of the most traditional recipes includes glazing the ham with a mixture of honey and spices. Use this recipe to glaze your favorite standard 10-pound smoked ham.

Ingredients:
½ cup honey
¼ cup orange juice
½ cup packed brown sugar
½ cup white sugar
¼ tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp ground nutmeg
¼ tsp ground cloves
¼ tsp paprika
¼ tsp ground ginger
⅛ tsp all spice

Method:
In a medium mixing bowl, combine honey, orange juice and sugars and whisk until combined. Add remaining ingredients, stirring to incorporate. Place cooked ham on wax paper or a cookie sheet with 1-inch lip and pour glaze over ham. Brush glaze over ham to coat evenly. Using a hand torch, gently flame ham to caramelize the glaze. Allow ham to rest 5 minutes before serving.
